A heartbreaking incident occurred last night at the Ballygunge Military Camp's Jamana Building Accommodation, leaving a family in mourning and a community in shock. At approximately 9:30 PM on July 6, 2024, a young boy, around six years old, fell from the stairs of the building's fifth floor, sustaining critical head injuries.
The child was reportedly playing on the stairs when the accident happened. Emergency services were immediately notified and activated. The boy was swiftly transported to Chitranjan Hospital, the nearest medical facility to the Ballygunge Military Camp.
Despite the rapid response and the best efforts of the medical team, the boy was pronounced dead on arrival. The child's family, who were residing in the Jamana Building Accommodation, is devastated by the loss.
