A fire broke out today during office hours in Kanak Buildings, located near the Maidan Metro Station in Kolkata. The building is commercial and houses various offices including bank branches.
As per the preliminary report, the fire might have broken out due to a short circuit. Workers were seen rushing out of the building as soon as the smoke was detected.
Reports say that the fire has started from Orane International - a hair and makeup school. It is located on the second floor of the building.
