SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
Cases of violence are rampant in West Bengal. Political allegations are also going on in full force. Amid this, two big names of the ruling Trinamool party clashed with each other. Kamarhatti MLA Madan Mitra and Dumdum MP Sougata Roy are accusing each other of Ariadaha assault.
Police have so far arrested 8 people in connection with the assault of mother and son in the Kamarhatti area. However, the prime accused, Jayant Singh is still out. On Tuesday, several pictures of Jayant Singh along with Madan Mitra, his son and daughter-in-law went viral.
Taking this opportunity, Sougata Roy claimed that such anti-social people stay with Madan Mitra. Reacting to this, the Kamarhatti MLA said, "Who will commit what crime and when, how can one know?" He was speaking today outside the Assembly.
Madan, in his funky style, said, "Sougata Roy is a very senior 80-year-old MP. Whenever he contests in elections he says that this will be his last. Only he can tell why he said such things about me".
"MLA cannot roam around the area at night and see where the killing and beating is taking place. Yes, some people go out at night, Sougata Roy is also among them. Even today, people in my area are protesting against Jayant Singh's non-arrest by carrying his picture with Sougata Roy", Madan added.
On the statement of MLA Hamidur Rahman in the Chopra case, Madan said that the party has already issued a show-cause notice. Madan further said that the police could not understand Mamata Banerjee's statement against anti-social people.
"Everyone does not know what Mamata Banerjee can do. It should not happen that Mamata Banerjee takes on the streets against such anti-social people. No one can support an incident like Chopra", said Madan Mitra.
