Congress MP and Leader of the Opposition in Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, launched a scathing attack on the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his speech in Parliament on Monday. He also criticized Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, alleging that two individuals effectively occupy his chair in the house.
In his impassioned address, Rahul Gandhi accused the Lok Sabha Speaker of showing partiality towards PM Narendra Modi. He remarked, "The Speaker of the Lok Sabha, the Speaker of the Indian Union, and there is Mr. Om Birla. When Modiji shook your hand and I shook your hand, I noticed a difference. When I shook your hand, you stood straight and reciprocated the handshake, but when Modiji shook your hand, you bowed and shook his hand."

“When you shook my hands, you stood straight
But when it came to Modi, you literally bowed down while shaking hands with him”

Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla replied to his allegations and said, "Prime Minister Narendra Modi is the leader of this house and my culture teaches to bow down and greet people who are senior." To this, Rahul Gandhi replied, "I respect what you said, but there is no one greater than the Speaker in the house, and we should all bow down in front of the Speaker. In a democracy, you are the leader of the house and you should not bow down in front of anyone."
Rahul Gandhi also criticized the BJP's stance on Hinduism, prompting a response from Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who stated, "Labeling the entire Hindu community as violent is a very serious accusation." In response, Rahul Gandhi clarified, "Narendra Modi does not represent the entire Hindu community, the BJP does not represent the entire Hindu community, and the RSS does not represent the entire Hindu community."
