Speeding bus mows down pedestrian at MG Road more, driver flee
Union Home Minister Amit Shah chaired a high-level review meeting on Sunday in New Delhi to address the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir following recent terror attacks. The six-hour marathon meeting focused on replicating the successful 'area domination plan' and 'zero terror plan' from the Kashmir Valley in the Jammu division.
Key security officials, including National Security Adviser Ajit Doval, attended the meeting. Shah reiterated the need for security agencies to operate in a mission mode and ensure a quick, coordinated response to any threats. "The recent incidents show that terrorism has been forced to shrink from highly organized acts of terrorist violence to a mere proxy war," Shah stated.
The meeting took place at North Block, just three days after Prime Minister Narendra Modi conducted a similar discussion. The prime minister had also called for deploying the "full spectrum of counter-terror capabilities" in light of a deadly attack on a bus carrying pilgrims.
Attendees included Lieutenant Governor of Jammu and Kashmir Manoj Sinha, Army Chief General Manoj Pande, Army Chief-designate Lt. General Upendra Dwivedi, and other top security officials. They discussed intensifying counter-terror operations in the region.
