The election campaign for nine seats in West Bengal concluded today with a display of immense vigor from all major political parties, including the BJP, Trinamool Congress, Congress, and CPI(M). The climax of the campaign was marked by a grand padyatra led by Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee in South Kolkata, showcasing the party's determination and strength.
Under Mamata Banerjee's leadership, the largest padyatra in South Kolkata's history commenced from Jadavpur Lok Sabha constituency. The 12 km long march saw the participation of prominent Trinamool leaders, including Sayoni Ghosh, Jadavpur Lok Sabha candidate Mala Roy, Mayor Firhad Hakim, Minister Arup Biswas, and Debashish Kumar. The CM criticized the central government for imposing restrictions on health, education, and food grains, asserting that the public would no longer tolerate such measures.
The BJP also demonstrated intense campaigning efforts on the last day with Suvendu Adhikari's rally gaining significant crowd.
Mamata Banerjee held 108 public meetings and road shows in West Bengal and Assam, while the party's national general secretary, Abhishek Banerjee, conducted 72 public meetings and road shows across various districts of West Bengal. In addition, more than 20 internal meetings were held.
