Shop owner and family attacked amid Trinamool group clashes in Kalitala

In a dispute between two groups in Kalitala, a shop owner and his family were attacked on Friday night by alleged Trinamool sheltered miscreants. The incident occurred in the Nishchinda police station area of Bali, resulting in four family members being injured. Amiya Naskar, the shop owner, was seriously injured and admitted to Uttarpara Hospital. His son and wife were also reportedly beaten, and their parked bikes were vandalized. The local police did not take immediate action, instead requesting a medical report when a complaint was lodged.

Since the last panchayat elections, Kalitala has experienced repeated clashes between Trinamool groups. On the night of the attack, 15-20 miscreants from one group arrived at Naskar's shop, searching for someone from the opposing group. When Naskar stated he had not seen anyone, the miscreants began assaulting him and his family, causing significant injury and damage to their livelihood.
