Humayun Kabir who hailed Abhishek and criticized Firhad, apologises after CM Mamata’s reprimand
Mumbai Indians skipper Hardik Pandya has been fined ₹30 lakh and handed a one-match suspension following his third slow over-rate offence in IPL 2024. This means Pandya will miss the opening game of the IPL 2025 season.
Pandya's troubles compounded as the Mumbai Indians lost their final group game to the Lucknow Super Giants at the Wankhede Stadium on Friday. The slow over-rate penalty not only resulted in a hefty fine for the captain but also a ₹12 lakh fine for each player of the playing XI, including the impact player, or 50% of their match fees, whichever is lower.
This season has been particularly tough for Pandya and his team, with the Mumbai Indians finishing at the bottom of the points table. The Baroda-born all-rounder scored 216 runs in 14 matches at an average of 18 and took 11 wickets.
"Never nice to go through something like that," commented head coach Mark Boucher on the crowd booing Pandya throughout the season.
