Thunderstorms have caused devastation across various districts of Bihar, claiming the lives of 10 individuals due to lightning strikes on Saturday. Rohtas district witnessed the highest casualties, with five people losing their lives, followed by three in Gaya, and one each in Jumai and Nawada. In Rohtas, the fatalities occurred in various incidents, including collapses and direct lightning strikes.
In Rohtas, three fatalities occurred due to collapses in villages Gotpa and Kahuara under the Bikramganj police station area, while two individuals, including a minor, lost their lives in separate incidents in Gothani Matia and Ben Sagar of Suryapura. The victims have been identified, including Arvind Kumar Gupta and Om Prakash Ram from Gotpa village, and Sunil Kumar from Levada village. Additionally, three individuals lost their lives in Gaya, and one teenager tragically died in Nawada, adding to the toll of casualties caused by the thunderstorms in Bihar.
