The controversy stems from the use of the word "Bible" in Kareena Kapoor's book title, which has drawn criticism and legal action from various quarters. Advocate Christopher Anthony filed a petition against Kapoor, arguing that comparing pregnancy with the Bible is insensitive and disrespectful to the Christian faith. The Madhya Pradesh High Court has sought an explanation from Kapoor regarding the title, marking a legal battle over the semantics of the book's name.
Meanwhile, this isn't the first time Kapoor has faced backlash over the title. In 2021, a Christian group lodged a police complaint in Beed, Maharashtra, alleging religious sentiment hurt. As the legal battle unfolds, Kapoor continues her professional commitments, recently being appointed as the National Ambassador for UNICEF India, while maintaining her role as a prominent figure in Bollywood alongside her husband Saif Ali Khan.
