Arijit Singh spotted riding helmetless to polling booth in Murshidabad for WB elections 2024

Renowned singer Arijit Singh, along with his wife, Koel Roy, was spotted heading towards the polling booth in West Bengal's Murshidabad district to exercise their voting rights during the third phase of the 2024 Indian elections. Voting commenced at 7 am on Tuesday, May 7, across various constituencies in West Bengal. In a viral video, Arijit, a native of Jiaganj in Murshidabad, was seen riding a scooter with Koel en route to the voting booth. Notably, the singer was observed without a helmet during the journey.

Arijit Singh cast his vote at Pritam Singh Primary School in Murshidabad later in the afternoon, dressed in a blue T-shirt and navy blue pants, while his wife adorned a lilac salwar suit. However, the singer faced criticism from netizens for various incidents, including cutting his nails with a nail cutter during a performance in Dubai, which was deemed disrespectful by some. Additionally, Arijit's failure to recognize Pakistani actor Mahira Khan during another concert in Dubai also garnered attention, although he later rectified the situation by giving her a shoutout and apologizing. On the professional front, Arijit recently lent his voice to the song "Vida Karo" from Imtiaz Ali's film "Amar Singh Chamkila," featuring Diljit Dosanjh and Parineeti Chopra in lead roles.
