SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
In response to the impending issue of load shedding during the summer months, Electricity Minister Aroop Biswas has issued urgent instructions. The directive calls for immediate action from the Kolkata-based power utility CESC, urging them to deploy 100 generators to alleviate the strain on the electricity grid. Additionally, the West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (WBPDCL) has been tasked with deploying 450 generators across the state to address the widespread load shedding.
Both CESC and WBPDCL have been instructed to boost their workforce and provide a comprehensive report on their efforts to Vidyut Bhawan, the state's power headquarters. In a high-level meeting convened by Minister Arup Biswas, officials from CESC and the Electricity Secretary discussed strategies to tackle the looming energy crisis.
