The Delhi High Court delivered its verdict on Monday, dismissing a plea that sought to disqualify Prime Minister Narendra Modi from contesting elections for six years.
The plea alleged that Modi violated the Model Code of Conduct (MCC) during a speech in Pilibhit, Uttar Pradesh, by seeking votes in the name of "god and place of worship."
The court deemed the plea devoid of merits.
