In a significant political development during the ongoing Lok Sabha elections, several prominent leaders from the Samajwadi Party made a notable shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Lucknow on Sunday.
Among those who joined the BJP were former Samajwadi Party MLA Jai Choubey, along with notable figures like Balram Yadav and Jagat Jaiswal in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Deputy Chief Minister Brajesh Pathak.
Welcoming alll the leaders, Pathak said, "Former MLA and several district presidents have joined our party today. Welcome, and congratulations to all of you. Those working at the block level are also coming along with them, they have a big responsibility in their hands."
"You all have decided to join the BJP... Under PM Modi's leadership, the BJP has reached to masses. Under PM Modi's guidance, we have taken a resolution of 'Viksit Bharat' and I hope you all will contribute to it," Deputy CM Pathak added.
