Eden Gardens hosts yet another run fiesta. In a stunning display of power-hitting, Punjab Kings secured the highest-ever run-chase in all T20 cricket during the IPL 2024 showdown against the Kolkata Knight Riders at the iconic Eden Gardens.
The clash witnessed a stellar performance from Jonny Bairstow, who emerged as the man of the match for Punjab Kings. Bairstow's unbeaten knock of 108 runs off just 48 balls anchored Punjab Kings' innings, propelling them to script history with the highest-ever successful chase in T20s. The Punjab-based franchise successfully chased down a mammoth target of 262 runs in just 18.4 overs.
Earlier in the match, Kolkata Knight Riders posted an imposing total of 261 for 6 on the scoreboard after being invited to bat first. Openers Phil Salt and Sunil Narine, forged a mammoth 138-run partnership. Salt blazed his way to 75 runs off 37 balls, while Narine contributed 71 runs off 32 balls.
However, Punjab Kings ultimately stole the spotlight showcasing remarkable dominance in the second innings as they clinched an 8-wicket victory over Kolkata Knight Riders.
