Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
Six dead in a massive fire that erupted at a wedding pandal in Bihar's Darbhanga district, the police confirmed on Friday. The incident occured around around 11.15 pm on Thursday in Alinagar within the Bahera police station area.
Eyewitnesses reported that the pandal ignited during the bursting of firecrackers, leading to a swift spread of flames. 'It is suspected that a few inflammables kept inside the pandal helped the fire to spread rapidly,' police said.
The deceased were identified as Sunil Paswan (26), Lila Devi (23), Kanchan Devi (26), Siddhanth Kumar (4), Shashank Kumar (3) and Sakshi Kumari (5).
Additionally, three cows were also killed as per police reports. The fire was brought under control after some time. The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examinations.
