The first photograph of underworld don Chhota Rajan since his arrest nine years ago has surfaced on social media, debunking rumors of his death or ill-health while lodged in Delhi's Tihar Jail.
This recent photo of Chhota Rajan dispels speculation of his demise during the Covid pandemic or any serious ailment while incarcerated. However, it has also reignited concerns about potential attacks on him while in prison.
Chhota Rajan, once a top lieutenant in Mumbai's D-Company, had a fallout with kingpin Dawood Ibrahim following the 1993 Mumbai bombings. Rajan has faced numerous death threats from don Chhota Shakeel.
Despite being in Tihar since 2015, the prison administration has never officially commented on or provided updates regarding Rajan's status.
In April 2021, Chhota Rajan tested positive for Covid-19 and was admitted to the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi. After the news of Bihar's mafia don-turned-politician Shahabuddin's death from Covid surfaced, speculation was rife that Rajan had also passed due to the virus.
