Railway Duty Head TT Snehashish Chakraborty made a significant discovery at Naihati station, apprehending two individuals posing as ticket collectors. While on duty as a ticket examiner on Monday, Chakraborty grew suspicious of a ticketless passenger. Upon inquiry, the two youths claimed to be ticket collectors, prompting Chakraborty to request their identity cards. Upon inspection, it was revealed that the identity cards of both individuals were counterfeit, leading to their apprehension by the Government Railway Police (GRP) and Railway Protection Force (RPF).
The fake ticket collectors were identified as Saurabh Das, hailing from Bankura, and Shashikant Mandal, a resident of Rampurhat. Sources suggest that the duo was allegedly recruited for the deceptive role in exchange for a substantial sum. Chakraborty's vigilance and prompt action not only thwarted the impersonation attempt but also ensured the perpetrators were handed over to the police for further investigation.
