RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav has delivered a fierce criticism of the BJP, accusing senior party leaders of advocating for changes to the Constitution. Yadav's remarks come ahead of the Lok Sabha elections, where he warned against any attempts to alter the constitutional framework of India. He stated, "Senior BJP leaders are continuously claiming to change and abolish the Constitution. But, instead of taking some action against them, the Prime Minister and his top leaders are making them contest elections as a reward."
Yadav further questioned the motives behind the BJP's stance, asserting that their agenda seeks to undermine the principles of equality, freedom, fraternity, social justice, and reservation enshrined in the Constitution. He emphasized the collective resolve of Dalits, backward classes, and the poor to protect the Constitution, declaring, "Even if one looks at the Constitution, the Dalits, backward, and poor people of this country will collectively gouge out its eyes." Yadav reiterated the significance of the Constitution drafted by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar and warned against attempts to undermine democracy, stating that any changes to the Constitution would amount to changing democracy itself.
