A big fire has broken out on Friday evening in Kolkata's Kankurgachi area. The fire breaks out in a slum opposite to the famous VIP market. The burning slum is said to be adjacent to a popular clothing brand's mall.
As per the initial reports, the fire broke out past 8:00 pm. Eyewitnesses informed the fire brigade following which three fire tenders were pressed to charge. Reports say that two more fire trucks have been sent by the department.
Reason of the fire remains unknown while the fire fighters are trying to control the roaring flames. The area, being a slum, is heavily congested and there is an atmosphere of panic among the residents.
