Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
In Thakurnagar, West Bengal's North 24 Parganas district, a confrontation unfolded between supporters of Union state minister Shantanu Thakur and Trinamool Congress leader Mamata Bala Thakur over the ownership of a house previously inhabited by Matua matriarch Binapani Devi.
The incident caused political tension in the area where most people are from the Matua community. The clash ensued when Mamata Bala Thakur accused Shantanu Thakur and his supporters of forcibly attempting to seize control of the residence where Binapani Devi, also known as 'Boroma', resided until her passing five years ago.

Shocking visuals are coming from Bongaon where BJP candidate & their leader @Shantanu_bjp , along with his goons carrying sharp objects & arms, are planning a violent attack on our Rajya Sabha MP Mamata Thakur’s residence. pic.twitter.com/dTsRu0GB4Z
Mamata Bala currently resides in the same house. However, Shantanu Thakur, who is Binapani Devi's grandson, alleges that Mamata Bala Thakur is unlawfully occupying the entire property.
The dispute highlights the complex familial and political dynamics within the Matua community, a significant demographic in West Bengal.
