The incident, which occurred on April 5th in Rohta Road's Nand Vihar Area, prompted swift condemnation and calls for action. Responding to public outcry, UP police initiated action, with Meerut Police directing the Kankarkheda police station in-charge to investigate the matter and take necessary measures.
The disturbing incident in Meerut follows a similar case in Indore, where a three to four-month-old street dog was fatally beaten with sticks for barking, leading to disturbances in the locality. The assault, perpetrated by a man named Vikas, resulted in the dog's death, prompting residents to report the incident to authorities. Priyanshu Jain, president of the Indore unit of People for Animals, swiftly filed a case against the culprit, leading to a postmortem examination of the street dog to ascertain the extent of the brutality.
