The scorching heat wave continues to grip Bihar, including its capital Patna, as temperatures soar across the state. According to the Meteorological Department's latest update, nine cities in Bihar recorded maximum temperatures of 40 degrees Celsius over the past 24 hours. Buxar emerged as the hottest spot with the mercury touching 39.4 degrees Celsius, closely followed by Patna where the maximum temperature stood at 39.1 degrees Celsius.
According to the Meteorological Center Patna, there is a possibility of heat wave in 25 districts including Patna, Gaya, Buxar, Munger, Siwan, Saran, Gopalganj, Katihar and Bhagalpur during the next two days. During this period, the maximum temperature of the state may increase by two to three degrees Celsius.
A yellow alert has been issued by the Meteorological Department regarding heat wave in 24 districts of Bihar. Barring a few cities of the state, most of the maximum temperatures are expected to be above 40 degrees. On Friday, the maximum temperature increased in some districts of the state and the temperature declined in most of the districts. However, it is a matter of relief that the maximum temperature of not a single district crossed 40 degrees Celsius.
