Mukesh Sahni's Vikasheel Insaan Party (VIP) joined the Mahagathbandhan. RJD has announced to give three seats from its quota to Sahni's party VIP. RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav stated that his party will give three seats to Mukesh Sahni's party from its quota of 26 seats. These seats are Gopalganj, Jhanjharpur and Motihari.
Earlier, there were news that RJD had proposed a merger to Mukesh Sahni, which he rejected. Seat sharing has been done among the Mahagathbandhan in Bihar. There are a total of 40 Lok Sabha seats in the state. RJD is contesting on the maximum number of 26 seats. Congress has been given 9 seats. The Left will field its candidates on five seats.
Welcoming the decision Tejashwi said, 'I am happy that Mukesh Sahni is now with the Grand Alliance. All the allies of the Grand Alliance have welcomed him in our alliance. Mukesh Sahni has taken an important decision in favor of Indian democracy.'
