Karnataka's Deputy Chief Minister and State Congress President, DK Shivakumar, revealed on Friday night that he had received an Income Tax notice, which he claimed pertained to an issue that had already been resolved. Speaking to the media about the IT notices served to Congress members, Shivakumar said "There is democracy in this country. There is a law. The BJP government is directing the official and taking this kind of action".
He said that the INDIA group, which opposes the BJP, is seen as a challenge by the ruling party. This is why they are trying to make opposition parties scared. Shivakumar pointed out that targeting opposition members shows that the BJP is worried about Congress and the INDIA Alliance. He stated that the INDIA Alliance has a good chance of beating the NDA, and the BJP's attempts to scare people show that they know they might lose. He mentioned that he received an IT notice even though the issue was already sorted out.
