Residents of Sonarpur in Yadavpur constituency voiced their discontent regarding the inadequate provision of drinking water, roads, and drainage facilities, confronting Trinamool candidate Sayani Ghosh. In response to the protest, Ghosh assured the locals, stating, "the water works project has been completed. Roads are being built. Water will also be provided. Drains will also be cleaned."
The protest garnered support from BJP candidate for Jadavpur Lok Sabha, Anirban Ganguly, who echoed the grievances of the residents, affirming, "the protest of the people of the area is right and I support it. Since the former MP did not come to the area or visit the area, she never realized the lack of complaints from the people of the area. So the common people have to hear these words before their eyes today. There is nothing to do, if you don't work you will listen. People will not sit silent now."
