Municipal Corporation forms committee to investigate Gardenreach incident

The Municipal Corporation has established a seven-member inquiry committee to delve into the Gardenreach incident. Led by the Joint Municipal Commissioner, the committee includes officials from various departments such as Civil, Solid Waste Management, Engineering, and Disaster Management. Their primary task is to visit the site of the Gardenreach incident and thoroughly examine both the affected building and the surrounding structures, which have also received notices.

The committee aims to submit its comprehensive report within seven days, focusing on investigating the presence of a previous pond at the location, analyzing soil samples, and assessing compliance with relevant regulations dating back to the 1980 Act and 2009 Rules. Furthermore, they will scrutinize whether neighboring constructions have adhered to building regulations.
