Violence erupts in Kolkata as Hindu Jagran Manch protest clashes with police; Officer injured
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has initiated raids at the premises of Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA Gulab Singh Yadav in Delhi, as confirmed by sources. The ongoing raids mark another setback for the AAP, following the recent arrest of Delhi Chief Minister and AAP national convener, Arvind Kejriwal, in connection with the excise policy case. Gulab Singh Yadav, representing the Matiala constituency in Delhi, is currently under scrutiny as ED officials conduct searches at his residence.
The timing of the raid on Gulab Singh Yadav's residence is noteworthy, occurring just two days after Arvind Kejriwal's arrest and subsequent remand to ED custody till March 28. Kejriwal's detention, linked to the alleged excise policy scam, has intensified scrutiny on the AAP's involvement in the case. ED alleges that the AAP stands as the primary beneficiary of the proceeds of crime generated through the alleged scam, as stated in the agency's remand note. The raid underscores the widening scope of the investigation into the excise policy scandal and its implications for the AAP leadership.
