In a significant development in the ongoing investigation into the teacher appointment corruption case, the ED has launched search operations at the residences of various businessmen across Kolkata. The search operations has started form Friday morning, spanning six locations including Chetla, Bangur, and Newtown.
Among the locations targeted in the operation is the residence of SK Jhunjhunwala in Bangur. Sources from the ED suggest that these businessmen are allegedly involved in the transacting of money related to the teacher recruitment corruption.
In an assertive move, officials accompanied by CRPF personnel arrived at Jhunjhunwala's flat in Lake Town, responding to leads regarding his potential connection to the corruption scandal.
Local sources indicate that Jhunjhunwala has been a long-time resident of the flat under scrutiny.
