The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has once again sprung into action, conducting search operations at multiple locations in Kolkata since Thursday morning. Sources reveal that ED officials initiated a raid at the residence of a businessman situated on Ballygunge Circular Road at 7 am today. This move comes after a series of search operations conducted by the central agency in the city recently.
The search operations are reportedly ongoing at several places, including Ballygunge and Park Street. The ED team arrived at the businessman's residence on Ballygunge Circular Road around 6.30 am today. Identified as Mahesh Kejriwal, the businessman is currently undergoing interrogation as ED officials continue to search his house.
While the exact motives behind the ED's raid remain undisclosed, sources suggest that the investigation is related to a case in Delhi. It is speculated that the businessman, involved in the transport sector, is under scrutiny for alleged financial irregularities.
