In Kakdwip's Chatterjee Chowk, village women discovered 190 sacks of ration wheat being smuggled, leading to the arrest of two van drivers by Sagar police station.
The investigation led to the arrest of a ration dealer, identified as Lalgiri from the Chowrangi area, for allegedly selling ration goods illegally in Gangasagar. Suspicion arose when local residents noticed ration items being sold in a grocery store operated by Sunil Mondal, prompting inquiries that revealed Mondal sourced the goods from Lalgiri.
The situation got worseas tensions rose in the area, prompting the intervention of both Food Department officials and Sagar police. The police siezed all ration goods from Mondal's shop and initiated an investigation, while efforts to control the situation are undertaken. Authorities continue to probe the matter for further details.
