Home Ministry extends ban on Yasin Malik's party for 5 years in major Anti-Terrorism move

In a decisive move against terrorism, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) has extended the ban on the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF-Y), led by Mohammed Yasin Malik, for a duration of five years. This measure comes in response to intelligence inputs indicating the organization's engagement in activities deemed detrimental to the security of the nation. The ban extension underscores the government's commitment to combating terrorism and preserving national integrity.

The Home Ministry's decision to extend the ban on JKLF-Y follows its previous declaration of the organization as unlawful in March 2019. Citing ongoing anti-national and subversive activities by JKLF-Y, aimed at disrupting India's sovereignty and territorial integrity, the Ministry asserts the necessity of this action in maintaining national security.

Additionally, in a comprehensive anti-terrorism strategy, the Home Ministry has imposed bans on four more organizations associated with promoting separatism and inciting terror in Jammu and Kashmir, reaffirming a policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism.
