The Bhavya Lakhani murder case has unfolded with chilling details with the involvement of a woman purportedly linked to the crime. Anirban Gupta, identified as the mastermind behind the murder, is now found to have transferred Rs 20 Lakhs of the embezzled Rs 50 lakh to the account of his female acquaintance.
According to police sources, 'killer' Anirban had made a detailed plan for the murder in the last few weeks. He had already purchased bricks and cement so that he could hide the body under the water tank. Not only this, after the murder, Anirban had also sent a fake mail to Bhavya and then tried to clear the way for his escape by replying to that mail from Bhavya's mobile. Even after the murder, the police of Ballygunge police station called Anirban twice for questioning, there he answered all the questions of the police with a cool mind and also showed the e-mail.
The entire plan was going according to his plan, but on the basis of the blood-stained bat-wicket and the mobile phone that Anirban had thrown in the street toilet, the police of Ballygunge police station caught him on Tuesday.
According to police sources, Bhavya Lakhani was not only attacked with bat and wicket but was also beaten and subjected to hellish torture to ensure his death. Anirban had applied lukoplast tape on bhavya's mouth to stop him from screaming. Initial investigation has revealed that pressure was also put on the throat. There are deep wounds on the head, neck, fingers, above the eyes and nose.
According to police sources, Anirban has now confessed to his crime. However, the police are also investigating whether more than the two were involved in this incident or not.
