In a significant step towards women empowerment, Prime Minister Narendra Modi spearheaded the distribution of drones to 1000 women, referred to as 'didis', during the Empowered Women-Developed India program in New Delhi. This initiative, named the Namo Drone Didi Scheme, aims to equip women with modern tools to enhance their participation in agriculture, with free training provided by the government. The event, held at the Indian Agricultural Research Institute, saw participation from women representing 11 different locations across the country.
PM Modi said, "Today's program is very historic in terms of women empowerment. Today I have got the opportunity to hand over 1 thousand modern drones to women's self-help groups under the Namo Drone Didi campaign. I have decided that now we The figure of 3 crore lakhpati didis has to be crossed. For this purpose, today an amount of Rs 10,000 crore has also been transferred to the accounts of these didis."
