Youth dies after alleged beating at South Garia drug rehab, family vandalizes centre in protest
Amid the exclusion of Ishan Kishan and Shreyas Iyer from BCCI contracts due to their absence from Ranji Trophy matches, Sachin Tendulkar emphasized the significance of participating in the esteemed domestic tournament. Taking to social media platform X, Tendulkar commended “The Ranji Trophy semi-finals have been riveting! @MumbaiCricAssoc’s march into the finals was aided by a brilliant batting recovery, while the other semi-final hangs in the balance going into the last day - Madhya Pradesh need 90+ runs to win, Vidarbha need 4 wickets. Throughout my career, I remained passionate about playing for Mumbai whenever I had the opportunity. Growing up, we had almost 7-8 India players in our dressing room, and it was fun to play alongside them.”
Tendulkar's timely reminder came as Mumbai's Wankhede Stadium was announced as the venue for the Ranji Trophy final, with Tendulkar expressing his excitement and recalling his passion for playing for Mumbai during his illustrious career. The former India skipper pointed out that players' participation in domestic tournaments not only enhances the quality of cricket but also provides opportunities for new talent to emerge. Highlighting the role of top players in domestic competitions, Tendulkar applauded the BCCI for giving equal priority to domestic cricket alongside international commitments.
