Former Chief Minister of Jharkhand and Working President of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM), Hemant Soren, faces continued setbacks as his plea to attend the state's budget session has been rejected by the Jharkhand High Court. Soren had previously sought permission from the court after his petition was turned down by the special Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) court of Ranchi on February 22. Despite his efforts, the High Court upheld the decision, denying him participation in the assembly session.
The denial of permission for Soren to attend the budget session marks a significant blow to the JMM leader, hindering his ability to engage in legislative proceedings and voice concerns on behalf of his party and constituents. The rejection by both the PMLA court and the High Court underscores the legal challenges Soren faces, potentially impacting his political activities and strategies in the state.
