District collector Kiran Patil reported that 142 people were admitted to the rural hospital at Bibi, 20 to a facility in Lonar, and 35 to another facility in Mehkar.
While visuals online depicted affected individuals lying outside hospitals due to reported bed shortages, the collector assured that the patients' conditions were stable, and most were discharged by Wednesday. A group of doctors, equipped with an ambulance, has been stationed in the village for potential medical emergencies. Samples of the 'prasad' have been sent for analysis, and an inquiry into the incident will be initiated.
The suspected case of food poisoning arose during a religious event where over 200 villagers fell ill after consuming 'prasad.'
