Farmers' fourth round of talks today; Government requests time for resolution

Amidst the ongoing agitation, farmers at the Shambhu border are gearing up for the fourth round of discussions with the government scheduled for Sunday. The farmers' 'Delhi March' has been halted at the Punjab-Haryana border for six days now, emphasizing their steadfastness in pushing for their demands, particularly regarding the guarantee of Minimum Support Price (MSP) for crops. Despite three prior rounds of talks yielding no consensus, hopes are pinned on this upcoming meeting for a potential breakthrough.

Sarwan Singh Pandher, the general secretary of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, confirmed the ongoing dialogue, Sarwan Singh Pandher, general secretary of Punjab Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee, said, “Today is our sixth day at Shambhu border. Today we are also talking to the government. The government has sought some time and said they will discuss the matter with Union ministers and find a solution."
