In a recent development in Madhya Pradesh's political arena, Congress' Rajya Sabha member, Digvijaya Singh, has dispelled speculations hinting at Kamal Nath's potential shift to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). Singh, a close confidant of Nath, affirmed in a statement to the media in Jabalpur that he had conversed with Kamal Nath over the phone just last night, firmly denying any intentions of Nath to defect to the saffron party. "Kamal Nath is not going anywhere," asserted Singh, reiterating Nath's allegiance to the Congress amidst swirling political conjectures.
Singh's categorical denial comes amidst heightened political chatter following Kamal Nath's abrupt cancellation of scheduled public engagements in Chhindwara, instead opting for a journey to Delhi. Notably, there were indications of a shift when Nath's son, a Lok Sabha member, removed the 'Congress' affiliation from his profile on X. Additionally, Digvijaya Singh took the opportunity to reiterate his stance against Electronic Voting Machines (EVMs), advocating for the adoption of traditional ballot paper voting in upcoming Lok Sabha elections, alleging manipulation in favor of the ruling central government.
