SC halts mosque survey orders, restricts lower courts in pending cases
A 70-year-old farmer, participating in the ongoing protest at the Shambhu barrier on the Punjab-Haryana border, passed away on Friday morning. The farmer was rushed to the nearest civil hospital in Rajpura, with medical professionals attending to him upon arrival around 4 AM.
As the farmer's condition worsened, doctors at the Rajpura hospital recommended transferring him to the Government Rajindra Hospital in Patiala for further treatment. Admitted to the emergency wing, the farmer unfortunately died within the first 30 minutes of receiving medical care at the hospital.
Leader Sarwan Singh Pandher, speaking on the death of the deceased farmer as Gyan Singh of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee (KMSC) stated, “Central government is the reason behind this agitation. We have a lot of people here (Shambhu border) participating in the protest including elders. We are facing difficulties in receiving medicines at the right time and even getting food, and resting.”
In alignment with the Gramin Bharat bandh called by the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, bus services in various parts of the state, including Rohtak, Jhajjar, Hisar, and Jind, remained suspended, causing inconvenience to commuters.
