Following the unrest in Haldwani, efforts are being made to stabilize the situation in Banbhulpura, Uttarakhand. The District Magistrate, Vandana Singh, has announced a partial relaxation of curfew in three areas, including Gaujajali, Railway Market, and the FCI warehouse area, from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm, with further relaxation from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm in other parts of Banbhulpura. This move comes after eight days of tension following the violence on February 8. As investigations progress, seven suspects arrested earlier have been remanded to jail after medical examination and court proceedings.
Amidst efforts to restore calm, authorities are turning their focus to political involvement in the incident, with indications suggesting the complicity of five local leaders from various parties. Police investigations have revealed a deeper complexity beyond individual instigators, hinting at a broader network involved in the violence. As the investigation delves deeper, scrutiny has shifted towards politicians, prompting some to evade contact with authorities. The incident, initially sparked by protest against demolition actions, has now evolved into a multifaceted investigation encompassing political ramifications and community unrest.
