Allu Arjun gets interim bail by high court in Pushpa 2 stampede case
Tensions escalated in Sandeshkhali as BJP leader Sukant Majumdar led a protest aimed at besieging the Superintendent of Police office in Basirhat. As Majumdar arrived in Basirhat, clashes erupted between BJP workers and police, with the former breaking barricades in an attempt to reach the office. Section 144 was imposed around the SP office premises to prevent any untoward incidents, prompting Majumdar to travel by local train to evade police intervention.
Despite efforts to maintain law and order, the situation turned chaotic as police allegedly resorted to lathi-charging and water spraying to disperse the protesting BJP supporters. In response, BJP workers were reported to retaliate by pelting stones, leading to injuries among supporters. Majumdar, along with his supporters, continued their protest in front of the SP office, vowing to persist until their grievances are addressed, particularly concerning the alleged sexual harassment incidents in Sandeshkhali.
