The Jharkhand High Court has postponed the hearing on the writ petition filed by former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren, challenging his arrest by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with a money laundering case linked to an alleged land fraud. The hearing, originally scheduled for Monday, was deferred until February 27.
Senior Supreme Court advocate Kapil Sibal, Jharkhand Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan, and advocate Piyush Chitresh represented Soren, while Additional Solicitor General SV Raju and high court advocate AK Das represented the ED. The court accepted an amendment in Soren's petition and granted a two-week extension for the ED to file a response, according to a high court lawyer familiar with the case.
