Haldwani violence fallout: 300 houses locked as stone pelters disappear with families

In the aftermath of the recent violence in Haldwani, Uttarakhand, a disturbing trend has emerged as 300 houses in Vanbhulpura were found locked, indicating a significant migration of residents. Despite the imposition of a curfew, people, especially stone pelters involved in the violence, are reported to be disappearing with their families.

A massive search operation, involving central forces, is underway to locate these individuals. The police, administration, and government are taking strict measures to address the situation, with teams dispatched to other districts for the apprehension of absconding suspects.

The exodus from affected areas, including Master's Garden, Indira Nagar, Choti Line, and Badi Line, began on the night of the disturbance, and it continues. Residents are leaving their homes, and many have locked their houses while fleeing to other districts in UP and Uttarakhand.

Authorities are conducting thorough searches and investigations into houses from where stones were pelted during the violence. The Chief Minister, Pushkar Singh Dhami, has affirmed a tough stance, vowing to arrest all rioters and address illegal occupations in the state, emphasizing strict action against those involved in the recent Haldwani incident.
