Jammu and Kashmir hit by 5.8 magnitude earthquake, no casualties reported
Lal Salaam, the much-anticipated film featuring Vishnu Vishal and Vikranth in lead roles and a special cameo by superstar Rajinikanth, premiered in theaters on Friday with high expectations. However, the film faced disappointment in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana, as several morning shows were canceled due to poor ticket sales. Directed by Aishwarya Rajinikanth, Lal Salaam delves into themes of communal harmony and religious equality, with Rajinikanth portraying the role of Moideen Bhai, a Mumbai underworld figure.
Despite generating anticipation and excitement, Lal Salaam failed to attract audiences in the Telugu-speaking states. While the film received a positive response in Tamil Nadu, Rajinikanth's home state, it struggled to draw viewers in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Reports indicate that numerous morning shows and first-day screenings were axed across theaters in the region due to alarmingly low attendance rates. Those who had purchased tickets for the canceled shows have been duly refunded through ticketing platforms.
