Late at night in Haridevpur, Kolkata, a businessman named Nitin Shah was forcibly abducted by miscreants wearing police uniforms. Eyewitnesses reported that the culprits, armed with guns, compelled Shah to sit in a car. Responding promptly, the police took action within hours of the incident.
A search operation, guided by CCTV footage, led to the rescue of Nitin Shah, and the subsequent arrest of the three kidnappers, identified as Biplab Patra (33), Ashok Maji (46), and Arunanshu Das (42). The police also confiscated the vehicle involved in the abduction. The accused were produced in Alipore Court and remanded to police custody for further questioning.

The victim, Nitin Shah, a 22-year-old businessman, was standing near Kabardanga crossing with two companions when the kidnappers forcibly took him away in a car with a "Police" label. The kidnappers demanded a ransom of Rs 20 lakh. The entire incident was captured on CCTV cameras near the Hardrock Bar. The arrested individuals were presented in Alipore Court and placed in police custody for further investigation.
