South African spin bowler Keshav Maharaj has expressed his desire to visit the recently-consecrated Ram Temple in Ayodhya in the near future. Despite a busy schedule preventing him from attending the temple's inauguration, Maharaj, of Indian descent, revealed that his family has long wished to go on a pilgrimage to India. The 33-year-old cricketer, a staunch devotee of Lord Ram and Hanuman, has visited numerous temples during his trips to India. Maharaj extended good wishes on social media ahead of the temple's consecration and expressed hope for a future visit to Ayodhya, possibly with assistance from the Lucknow franchise.
Maharaj shared his gratitude for being in his current position and disclosed that he requested the DJ to play the song 'Ram Siya Ram' during his recent bat entrance in the Cape Town Test against India. The cricketer emphasized his strong faith in God and the importance of expressing gratitude, especially as a devotee of Lord Hanuman and Lord Ram. Currently leading the Durban Super Giants in SA20, Maharaj looks forward to potential future visits to Ayodhya.
