Mamata calls urgent meeting at Nabanna tomorrow, key administrative officials to attend
As the Congress' Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra progresses from West Bengal to Bihar, senior party leader Jairam Ramesh has candidly addressed internal concerns, stating, "Our workers are not happy. Our workers are angry, but Mamata Banerjee is a very important part of the INDIA alliance."
Ramesh expressed discomfort over the clashes between Trinamool Congress (TMC) and Congress workers at the grassroots level. He emphasized the need for unity within the national-level alliance, highlighting that while state-level conflicts are common, they must find a formula to maintain harmony on the national stage.
Jairam Ramesh explained, "I explained to them that this alliance is a national-level alliance. In the states, we can fight, like in Kerala, where we fight with the leftists. We keep fighting with each other, but if we do not fight at the national level, we will have to find some similar formula." The Congress leader shared insights into the ongoing Bharat Jodo Nyay Yatra, expressing astonishment at the overwhelming support witnessed in Jalpaiguri and Siliguri. He highlighted the energetic response from women, young individuals, the elderly, and children, stating, "I am not saying that all these people will vote for us, but the response had so much energy. There was so much excitement."
