Armed gang loots ₹90 lakh from Araria's Axis Bank

In a daring daylight heist, six armed criminals targeted an Axis Bank branch at ADB Chowk in Bihar's Araria district, making off with over ₹90 lakh in cash. The criminals, armed and dangerous, stormed the bank around 11:45 am, firing shots in the air to intimidate customers and staff. Within a span of 10 minutes, they looted the cash, locked people in a room, and escaped on two bikes.

The Superintendent of Police, Ashok Kumar Singh, swiftly responded to the situation, rescuing those trapped inside. Authorities are now scrutinizing CCTV footage to identify the criminals, and borders have been sealed to aid in their capture. The police, at this point, do not have precise information about the total amount looted.

Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Ram Pukar Singh is leading the interrogation of bank officials and customers. Simultaneously, a dedicated police team has initiated raids to track down the culprits. This incident follows a similar robbery two years ago when criminals looted ₹37 lakh from a Bank of India branch in Araria.
