'BJP is anti-women, chants Ram but not Sita': Mamata Banerjee

Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee led a massive Sadbhavana Yatra in Kolkata on Monday, starting with rituals at the Kalighat temple. The rally, organized by Trinamool, covered various religious places, including a Gurudwara, Mosque, and Church, promoting social welfare prayers. Mamata, using a scooter, visited Gadcha Gurudwara during the rally from Hazra Mod to Park Circus ground.

While concluding the rally she addressed the crowd at Park Circus Maidan, accusing  the Center of conspiring to divide votes, criticizes the handling of the Ram temple issue. 

Mamata Banerjee accused the Center of doing politics of polarization in the name of religion before the elections and said that a conspiracy is being hatched to cut votes by paying money to some Muslim leaders. She jibed at the Ram temple and said that BJP only take the name of Ram and not Sita, because they are anti-women. TMC Supremo further criticised media for sensationalising Pran Pratishtha event and glorifying BJP.

"Today media acted as if it's a freedom fight going on. It is shameful that media is making BJP a world leader. They purposely declared a holiday so that people could watch them on TV. It is not our (politicians) job to do 'pran pratishtha'. It is the job of the priests. Our job is to create infrastructure.”

While speaking on INDIA bloc and seat sharing, she stated that "I gave the name India but CPM controls the meeting. We will not listen to the person with whom we fought for 34 years. I have the courage to fight with BJP but they don't let me fight. I had the courage and I took to the streets, where were you? We will not leave even a single seat for BJP."
